sweet heat grilled shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of peeled and deveined shrimp (large/jumbo shrimp)

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 2 tbsp Stewart’s Maple Syrup

  • 1 tbsp Frank’s Red Hot sauce

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • Red pepper flakes

  • optional:

  • 5-6 skewers

  • Cilantro and lime for garnish

Instructions:

  • In a large bowl add garlic, maple syrup, olive oil and hot sauce. Whisk until well combined.

  • Add shrimp to the bowl and gently toss to coat shrimp.

  • Allow shrimp to marinade for 15 minutes.

  • Preheat grill to 400° F.

  • Prepare skewers (depending on the side of shrimp, it will likely be 5-6 shrimp per skewer). Sprinkle with red pepper flakes (optional).

  • Grill shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side or until pink all the way through.

  • Squeeze a lime wedge over cooked shrimp and garnish with cilantro (optional).

  • Enjoy grilled shrimp with your favorite summer side!

Tips:

  • Grilled shrimp are GREAT in tacos or atop your favorite salad!

  • Serve with your favorite cheesy grits for a nice sweet and savory combination.

  • Don’t like seafood? Try this same technique and marinade with cubed boneless skinless chicken breast.
