the iced maple americano
Ingredients:
1-2 shots of espresso
1-2 tsp maple syrup (the real stuff)
1- 1 ½ c ice cubes
Splash of water
¼ c milk of choice (I like Elmhurst UNSWEETENED MILKED ALMONDS™)
Cinnamon
Instructions:
Add maple syrup to warm espresso and stir.
Pour espresso over ice and add a splash of water (I usually fill glass until half full).
Use hand blender or milk frother to create cold foam (blend until a stiff layer of foam forms).
Using a spoon and preserving the foam layer, pour milk over iced espresso.
Spoon foam on top, sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy!
Tips:
Replace espresso and water with cold brew or remove ice and serve warm.
Pair with your favorite waffle, pancake or breakfast sandwich.
Substitute maple syrup for 1 maple candy or honey.
